Blend motor actuator

I have a 2006 F-150 that is 38 months old, 2 months out of warranty, of course. The blend motor actuator has been replaced 2 times, the last time was about 11 months ago, 11/08. The air and heat work fine except there's a rattling, ratcheting sound when the heat is on. I took it back to the dealer and told them it's worked fine for the past 11 months and has started the chattering again. They said most like the actuator is bad again and it would be at my expense to fix it. My question is, if everything is working except for the annoying ratcheting sound, is the actuator actually bad or could it be something loose? It seems to quit when I put pressure on the box where it's housed behind the glove box.

thanks

Blend Door Problem

I have a 2008 F-150 Lariat supercrew that has been back in the shop four times for this blend door problem. From all the problems I've had and the number of posts on this forum I'd suspect that your blend door needs replacing again. Ford has a TSB out for this problem and my blend door was replaced six months ago with the new one that was supposed to correct the problem. It is back in the shop as I write this with problems again. This is the most annoying thing that I've ever encountered on a new vehicle. I would have thought Ford would issue a recall on this, but apparently they haven't really solved the probelm yet. Let's hope for the best this time around. Seems if you've had recurring problems that Ford would extend some assistance to you. I'd call Ford directly and not just take the dealerships word that the cost would be entirely on you. Heck, the replacement part only costs $25. I think Ford would absorb this in order to satisfy their customers.
