newbie needs help

good morning all, i am very glad to have found this site. i am a new truck owner, well...i am new to the world of ford trucks it is a 2000 ford f150 lariat 5.4. I bought it because i have always wanted a truck and after replacing some parts, some TLC i have run into another issue. The A/C clutch is rattling and making terrible squeaking sounds. i can see the "triangle part" (See i am new the this world) it will spin then stop and do it over and over. I quess my question is can i just replace the clutch? the A/C works fine blows cold. Is this a DIY job? Can the clutch in place be tightened, repaired? Thank you guys so much for your help. My personal email address is: pframirez@hotmail.com thanks again.

Welcome

Usually when the compressor cycles it is low of freon. But I have read some threads, where some have removed the front of the clutch and taken a shim from behind it. I've not had that problem myself, but use the search feature, and read some of the threads. There maybe some symptoms that match yours there. Maybe even some solutions.
