Topping Off R-134 (Air Conditioning)
Topping Off R-134 (Air Conditioning)
While at my local Wally World, I asked the auto tech. about the product for topping off the R-134 for my 2001 K.R. / the item comes with a built in gauge and the quick connector.
Well, I cannot get that darn universal quick connect to attach; it is too small. I just read that there are two (2) ports - a high pressure and a low pressure and that the low pressure port is where to install to. I must have been trying the high pressure port (that's why it doesn't fit) but I do not know where the low pressure port is located.
Any help will be appreciated.

The low pressure connector is much harder to locate than the high pressure port you already found.
Up on the firewall next to the battery there is a black metal bracket that is in two pieces. If you remove the two 10mm bolts on the top of the bracket, it will come apart and you can pull the front half up a couple of inches (its held by some wires that are clamped to it.)
Now look under the bracket, and tucked up against the firewall you should be able to see the line with the low pressure connector. The connector points toward the engine and it has a black plastic cap on it.
