ac coolant refill

i have a 2002 f 150. where exactly is the low pressure port and do i have to buy a specific kind of coolant. im getting the kind that has the attachment on the bottle to refill it with.

If it's similar to my '99, look for a silvery canister mounted vertically on the passenger side firewall. The low pressure port faces forward and has a black cover that unscrews. I believe 134a is the gas you need. Use a kit with a gauge (don't overfill) and follow the directions.

Don't put coolant in the A/C system. Coolant goes in the engine; refrigerant goes in the A/C.

Don't add refrigerant with a straight hose. It takes a manifold gauge set to know IF the system needs more refrigerant, and if so, how MUCH to add.

Take it to a pro.
