I have an 05 Supercrew and have noticed that when I start up or when a temperature adjustment is made to the heat I hear a creaking or a groaning noise coming from the dash (below the HVAC unit). I have not used the A/C yet so I am not sure if it happens in A/C mode. Any ideas of what this could be?? PS-break it to me gently!

I think mine does the same thing. Right after start up, within seconds of putting in gear. It sounds like a door or flap opening (I assume with vacuum pressure) Might just be a cheap hinge creaking when moving.

 

Thanks for the info Yetti96. I am hoping this isn't the blend door getting ready to go out. I hear that is a real fun job. I just bought my truck used a few months ago and it started up not long after. I can live with the noise if that is as far as it goes.
