Don't ya just love it when they don't state the Model, Year, Engine ETC, Just assuming its a ford though.

AC service is NOT for the novice!
I don't care if the parts stores or walfarts sell quick fix AC kits etc. Its a dangerous thing to mess with when you haven't any experience.

Take it to a REAL AC shop, you'll get Professional work done right.

Are you reffering to me when I didnt state my vechicle info? Unlike you, I have it posted in the information at the top of every post that i make.

Secondly, while i have no AC experience personally, I have two friends that do, which would be helping me. That is why I asked how big of job it would be to do myself. I dont go around busting ***** of people that ask how to install their stereo or a set of speakers...I tell them how big of a job it is to do theirself and then let them decide if they want to try it or want to pay someone to do it.

But thanks for your extremely helpful response. It will go a LONG way in helping me with my AC issue...

I'd take it to a good a/c shop, like a radiator place or whatever. I did when mine went, new compressor, clutch for it, and canister with a few other things installed on a humid morning only cost $800 or so.

Most people would call their jobber or parts store to find needed parts.

There are probably sponsors here, also... Rockauto is usually pretty darned good.

You will not go wrong with:

http://www.ackits.com/

They do lots of hand holding for novices who aren't exactly sure what they are doing. Plus, they have the best forum in the USA.
