'02 F150 SCREW Issue: No defrost...
Greetings to all...
I've read all of the HVAC posts, but can't find anyone with the same issue I'm having, or at least I'm not smart enough to see the difference. Here it is...
My heat and AC work fine, adjusts to temperatures no problem. Issue is that it only comes out the front dash vents. No floor, no defrost...just won't switch from the front dash vents. Which is fine in the summer, but not now.
I have the electronic adjustment panel and when I switch areas the screen displays the proper pictures, but nothing happens.
Our dealership wants $95.00 just to evaluate and at the desk they said "well it will be at least $1,000 to touch it." I walked out, at least talk to me gently before telling me the bad news...it was like a scene from 'Dumb and Dumber'.
Reading the other posts, it seems that the Blend Door issue is out the window, because my temperature control is working fine...I've tried to check the vacuum hoses, but who knows. What I do know is that it was 22-degrees this morning and I'm tired of scraping my windows.
I'm not afraid of DIY, I built my own house from the ground up, what I am afraid of is replacing the wrong parts after 8 hours of labor! Any help would be great, Happy Thanksgiving to all.

hello...
i am experiancing the same issue as you with the exception that everything works except the defrost. i found this post ( https://www.f150online.com/forums/hv...ease-help.html ) that assisted me a little bit, my actuator is not moving between floor and defrosts, so I am assuming that it must be a vacume issue.i have taken my dash apart all the way and removed all dust and anything that could possibly interfer with the door. I have an 02 with the rotary style selector. I tried to go to the dealer and get some info but they were of no help they wanted to do it for me. I am looking for information on how the system works to narrow down what I need to replace. if anyone has any information or drawings i would be most interested. i would like to know at what positon the actuator needs to be in to direct air to the defrost vents(on defrost it is staying in the fully extended????), or if it is another unit that does that. any help would be most appreciated i live in alaska and this is getting annoying
