Fan Motor Dead...need opinions

hey everyone, just went to the dealer to get my ac/heater checked for not working. Ends up the fan motor that blows the air into the cab is dead. They wanna charge me $365 to fix. I want to know if I can buy it online somewhere for cheaper and have a mechanic put it in or if I can do it myself. Thanks everyone.

If it's like my 2000 it should be pretty easy to change. It should be under the right side of the dash and held in with 4 or 5 small screws. I would call around a few parts stores and maybe Ford itself to price it out.

Is it not blowing on any speed?

Thanks, and yeah doesn't matter what I put the speed or setting at no air comes out.

not sure about the 01 but on my 2000 if you look up under the right dash the motor is in the far right corner almost touching the firewall. If you pulled the screws out it would fall right out. The screws will need a 7 or 8mm socket. The one(s) in the back may be troublesome to get at but it doesn't look all that difficult to drop out. I can see my power connection to it also so you may be able to put a multimeter on it and confirm their diagnosis.

Hmm, I'll have to take a look tomorrow.
