Weird noise when I adjust temperature on auto HVAC.
Does anyone else's "flappers" in the auto HVAC make a noise when they move. I don't know the exact name of these valves, but mine is making an noise when I adjust the temperature. It must move pretty slow too cause it makes the noise for about 2 or 3 seconds. It almost sounds like plastic rubbing.
I'm having the same issue til the blower stopped working and actually I'm looking through the forum now and all fingers seem to be pointing to the blower motor crapping out. So I would suggest finding one to replace. I.E. I checked my fuses, relays and everything is fine. My sounds: grinding/plastic popping scrapping noise, loose ball bearings from the blower. Hope this helps.

Spike,
Im having the exact same issue you are describing. It sounds exactly like pastic rubbing together, almost like something needs to be lubricated. I have no idea how to fix it, but it sure is annoying.

If you still got a warranty you better get that blend door fixed
I know exactly what you guys are talking about. It's called the blend door and on the auto a/c systems it blends hot and cold air to get the temp you have it set on. Problem is that Ford made ****ty plastic gears that end up stripping out. That noise you are hearing is the foreshadowing to a ridiculous repair bill. My '06 Lariat Supercrew doesn't have any a/c because it stopped making that "creaking" noise. So I know now that the blend door isn't working. I turned my truck on and ran the a/c and felt that there was a cold aluminum line so I know the freon isn't the issue. All my research keeps leading to having to rip the whole dash out just to replace that damn blend door. Good Luck and somebody please help me out. I can't afford the mechanic labor fees when it's 100 bucks to fill this thing up.
