multiple problems with my heater 1997

This is my first post here so Hello all!
My 1997 blower motor only runs on Med.high and high, I will be replacing the resister this week.
It just stopped blowing air to the floor. When I have the selector to the floor position it just blows out the defroster. When I select floor/panel, it only blows out the panel and defroster.
The 3rd annoyance I've been having this winter is the temperature controlled sometimes won't work on "hot". An example of what I'm describing is when I've been warming up my truck in the morning I will find that my heater is blowing out cold air. If I spin the control back and forth a little it will immediately start blowing hot. I'm thinking I need a new temperature controlled.
Any similar problems out there?
Thanks for your help!

Steve

Did all the problems happen at once? Does sound like all the problems could be related to the control head. I would also check the vacuum line that runs between the battery and the firewall for breaks just to make sure you have good vacuum because this is a common place for the line to crack.

heater problems

The blower motor problem started a few months ago (too lazy to fix) I just bought the resistor from the local Ford dealer and will install it this weekend.
I had the heater core replaced about 3 weeks ago (my brother in law is a service manager at a Ford dealer near by!) Last week the heater stopped blowing on the floor. It just goes to defrost when I select "floor". it will go to the panel no problem and defrost no problem, just not the floor....My feet are cold!

It sounds like a bad temp selector switch, a bad blower motor resistor, and a broken or disconnected vaccuum line. Defrost is the default position when no vaccuum is present. It sounds kinda fishy having this many issues just 3 weeks after having the core replaced.
