Blend door replacement????????

I have been reading A LOT of threads about replacing this blend door.
I read some where that you can pull of the bottom part of the case it is in without taking the dash out.

Is this possible?

Can you replace the door/actuator without removing the dash?
I read one person saying it was 10 hour job and another saying it took him under 4 hours.

Is there a HOW-TO on this site for this fix?

I have a 98 F-150 with a 4.6

I was able to replace the actuator in my 2000 Expedition 4.6 with out removing the dash. It was still a tough job becasue the acturator is really snug under the dash. It was a pain to get out but I got it done in about two hrs. However if you have to replace the blend door, then you are out of luck and will have to remove the dash.

^ Agree with above just wanted to add that in a 98 truck if you are going to replace the blend door, you might as well spend the extra $150 and replace the heater core and blend door actuator while you're at it.
