After radio install only getting defrost

Hey Guys,

I just had Best Buy install an in dash navigation system into my 03 f150 KR. They said the had to remove parts of the dash to make it all fit and mount it in there properly. The thing is, today when I picked it up the ac would only blow out of the defrost vent on the top of the dash. I have the digital climate control and no matter which button I push the air stays coming out of the defrost vent. If I manually turn down the fan speed down to almost the lowest setting then it will start to come out of the panel vents, but if I turn the fan back up it starts coming out of the def again. I called best buy and they told me that it is probably a loose vacuum line and they will be able to fix it. Does this sound right? Is it possible they screwed up my climate control?

sounds right to me with the vaccum line. on the back of the unit there is a spot where tubes go into if my memory serves me right. one of those or a few maybe fell off that is what i am thinking. i wish i took a picture of what i am talking about.

The monkeys at best buy couldn't figure out what they had done to mess it up. The kicker is it would at least work a little before I took it back down there today. For instance, after about 30 mins in the truck and below 2,300rpm it would blow out the panel vents. Any faster or going into passing gear would kick it back up to defrost. Now, it will not blow out of the panel no matter what I do... That makes it get real hot real quick here in florida!! Anyway, they said I would have to get it fixed at a dealer and file a claim with best buy to get reimbersed. They said inside the dash, the actuator or whatever it is looked good and had no hoses missing. I checked out by the firewall as stated in other posts but that hose between the battery and the firewall looked fine and in good shape. So tomorrow I get to take it to the dealer and hopefully have them fix it.

The monkeys at BB either knocked a vacuum line loose or damaged it...

Return to Worst Buy and give them 30 minutes to fix it, or you'll take it to the ford dealer and WORST BUY can pick up that bill plus YOUR Time.

Definently make best buy pay for what they did. you gave them the opportunity to fix it. now they can eat the payment to the dealer
