Gang, I forgot to open the blend door prior to taking off the dash. I have the heater core cover off of my 2000 navigator. I've unsnaped the right side of the blend door frame and believe that all I need to do is lift up on the assembly to remove it. The problem is the blend door is shut tight against the frame and I'm feeling some tension on the piece that goes into the blend door actuator and am worried about just lifting it straight up and messing something in the lower gear/motor assembly. Any suggestions?

yeah, plug the battery in and turn the temp control. You will want to do this anyway to see the travel of the blend door and note where it starts stressing (see my threads on this). It sounds like your blend door is already under great stress since you are unable to get it out....that's not good.
