Question A/C lines warm/hot

Temperature was up to 85 degrees today. My thermometer in my a/c vent has been reading 45 degrees.(usually reads 37-40 degrees)I've noticed the suction side line does not sweat like it use to.It feels kind of warm and the discharge side line feels kind of hot.Any ideas?

Check for system leaks. Use dye or a sniffer. Hope its not the evaporator core, watch the drain pipe if you use dye or put the sniffer at the outlet of the drain hose.

The compressor outlet should be too hot to touch after it runs for a few seconds.

Sweating of the lines is highly variable. Depends on your local humidity, the dew-point, and the temperature of the line.

FWIW, likely a low charge due to a system leak. Just hasn't gotten low enough yet to start short-cycling.

A set of manifold guages would be helpful for further detective work.
