I'm pretty sure I have a small leak in the core. Since the carpet wasn't wet a suggestion was made to put in some Barrs Leak fix. I added two small bottles. Seems to have fixed the leak as I don't have the mist coming out of the defrost area any more but my heat temp has been reduced.
Do you think I blocked more than just the initial leak? If I can live with the current temp, do you think the Barrs Leak stuff will last? Have never tried this before and was wondering how others felt about using it.

The Barrs leak has plugged the flow through the heater core.

I just changed my heater core in my 98 expidition. i noticed my radiator is leaking. I want to get through to next fall to by a new vehicle. Should i use leak blocker, replace radiator at a garage or try to tackle it myself. It took my 13 hours to replace my heater core and it works well now. It blows very warm air. What would a radiator cost for parts and or replaceing at a garage. I also thank this sweb site for posting such nice directions on how to change the heater core.
