A/C blows cold then switchs to heat
A/C blows cold then switchs to heat
A co-worker has a '99 F-150 that has A/C issues.
When the AC is on (either regular or max) with the fan on low-high (less trouble on higher fan speed as it seem to “lock in place) the “door” will flip to the closed position thus only hot air blowing as a result. This happens primarily upon acceleration after stopping if I don’t take off slowly and maintain a constant, steady speed (“gunning it is a guarantee of losing the AC) or if I hit a bump (pothole, speed bump, RR crossing, etc.). If on the highway with no stopping/starting the AC will blow cold for the duration.
I’ve been told that this is a vacuum issue and in order to attempt to fix it, the whole dash needs to be pulled.
What's your take on this issue, Thanks
