Automatic climate control just shuts off

On my 2005 SuperCrew Lariat my automatic climate control will shut off for no apparent reason. By this I mean the panel will just go dead. When I press the auto button it will turn on again, but always set to 75 degrees regardless of the temperature setting when it turned off.

The dealer has worked on it and replaced parts (excellent dealer), but I still have the problem.

Does anyone have any insights into this intermittent problem and how I can fix it before the warranty expires?

Thanks.

From: Georgia on my mind...
Mine does this from time to time as well, just haven't got around to fixing it yet.

Mine does the same also. It has only happened around 5-6 times in the 2 years I've owned the truck. I have an 2004 SuperCrew Lariat. The only times it's done it is when I start up the truck, turn on the a/c, then do some things (like load gear in the back) while the truck is idling in park. I then get back into the truck and the a/c is completely off. And like you say, when I turn it back on it says 75 degrees.

Another thing I've noticed is that the air flow seems to oscillate a little. I'll be driving along and the air flow will increase and decrease slightly but noticeably. Has anyone noticed this?
