It may only need a recharge, but check for moisture where it may have leaked. Then proceed from there, I'd go to a shop that does A/C and they'll do a system check. I've only ever been down a pound or refrigerant so that's always been my likely cause. Cheapest way is this, but a switch may be it too, because it should cycle on/off fairly often if it's just low.

Yes the compresser is not cycling at all. When i turn it on no rpm drop at all.
Maybe i will take it in and see... thanks.

If your low on refrigerant the compresser will not cycle. There is some kind of saftey switch.

Here's a quick list of what can cause a compressor clutch to NOT engage:

Low refrigerant
Faulty cycling switch
Faulty high pressure cutout switch
PCM faulty
Relay faulty
Control switch faulty
Blown fuse
Clutch faulty
Wiring harness faulty

As you can see, there's a LOT to it that all has to work together.

First check is always a pressure check of the refrigerant. If there isn't at least 45-50 psi static pressure in the system, the whole thing is disabled.

If there is adequate charge to engage the cycling switch, jumper the switch momentarily and see if the clutch pulls in. If so, the switch is probably bad.

Those two things will get many of the common failures...

Steve
