Replaced condensor coil, what next b4 charge?

Driving in a windstorm in Fort Collins CO last fall my F150 hood & grill got snared by falling tree-top deadwood, KA-BLAM at 40mph.

The almost 2-inch limb left a dent the size of your hand on hood, pivoted around and stabbed through plastic grill and tore open a condensor coil.

I ignored it untill these last 90º days. Purchased a $50 used coil and installed it last night making sure I replaced O-Rings seals bought from Ford for $1.80.

Job was easier then I thought, FoMoCo sure has improved their grill design. Hoses were left open only for a couple of minutes. System was flat.

Ford parts guy wanted to sell me an accumulator for $140 when I asked about a freon filter-drier.

What more do I need to swap out before I can have the system recharged and not gamble on compressor damage (more than a salavage coil pack)

THANKS !!!!

Replacing the acccumulator is suggested. If you choose not to, the dessicant will be unable to absorb moisture from the system.

Draw a hard vacuum, check for leakdown, then charge.
