A/C always on?
A/C always on?
I haven't driven my F-150 much since I bought it new, but I'm driving it a lot more now and I've noticed the A/C is always on at any setting on the ventillation controller (other than off).
It comes on with Panel/Panel& Floor/Floor settings. I know this because the temperature drops down much cooler than the outside air when I have the selector turned down to the lowest heat/cool setting. I thought the Panel/Panel& Floor/Floor settings are only supposed to provide outside air, are they not?
I know the A/C usually comes on with defrosters in most vehicles. Is it supposed to come on with any setting on my truck?

If the Heritage AC is set up like it was on my '01, AC is on at all settings EXCEPT floor only and panel vent only. All other settings, the AC runs. You also get outside air on all settings except "off" and max AC. Then it recirculates. Found that in my old manual.
I prefer that system to my '05, which has separate buttons for AC and for recirc. Air temps were more consistent from vent to vent in my '01 than they are in my '05, also.

My 06 has auto temp and you have to manualy turn the a/c off but the auto yellow light will stay on and the fan will run but you will only get ambient air from outside. There also should be an off button where you can shut everything off.
