Heat on my work van doesn't work well

First off I know this is a Ford website but they have yet to produce a Dodge Mini Ram followers forum somewhere... plus I trust you guys.

Anyway, I have a 1988 Dodge Mini Ram. The heat on the Damned thing just doesn't like to work it just blows cold air. I've replaced the thermostat and that didn't do much. I've been told that sometimes you can get a "air bubble" in your coolant reservoir that will cause this. I've been around cars my entire life and that just sounds a little strange but is it possible? Anyway, what else do you guys think might be the issue? If I can't figure it out soon I'm just gonna buy an electric heater from JCWhitney and hard wire it to a toggle. We got our first little cold snap here in GA today (45 F brrrrr!!!!) and I'll be damned if I'm gonna ride in this thing every day through the winter with no heat again like I did last year. Anyway, if you guys have anything let me know.
