97' f150 HEATER CORE REPL/DASH REMOVAL
Does anyone have any ideas on making the removal of the dash to get to the heater core any easier? Have resigned myself to the fact that the core is bad and leaking now looking for insight on removing dash....Do all of the AC/Heater lines have to be disconnected? Does the steering wheel really need to be dropped? I've got limited time for the project and even less money, any help would be greatl appreciated....Thx
Here are some answers:
1. The air conditioning system DOES NOT need to be discharged.
2. The radiator needs to be drained.
3. The steering wheel needs to be dropped. Just remember to disconnect the little wire for the gear shift indicator.
4. To save about $800.00, I'd find/make time to R&R the $35.00 heater core.
Good luck

I'm kinda short on time, but if you'll search in here or in the interior care forum, cross-reference with my user name, I wrote a quick summary on pulling the dash down far enough to gain access to the heater core and/or blend door.
