Hi,
I'm trying to find out where to check and charge the A/C system. I can find the high side by the battery, but where do I connect up to on the low side of a 99' 4.6 liter?

Follow the Hose (Lines) from the compressor to the heater area, somewhere
along the lines before they get to another part there will be a low side port.

 

I just went through this one today! The low pressure port is on the accumulator itself, long cylinder thing on the firwall, right side, obscured by the heater hoses and relay wiring. I bought a can with guage at the store, connected it best I could, but it sprayed all over! don't know if I got any in there, and the guage still said 0 when I was done! SO I took it to a place for a recharge ($144!).
TOm... now got a/c!

Thought it be easy like my Saab where the low side connection is a convienent as the high side on this truck.
I guess "they" really want you back at the dealer.
