1993 F-150 5.0, what A/C system?

My system is blowing warm air unless i get on the highway.
I think i need to charge the system up, but dont know if its r34 or the old stuff. Does anyone have an idea?

Where can i get a recharge kit to replenish the freon?

Thanks, Glade

It's probably R12. Look at the service ports; are they quick disconnect or thread on? Quick disconnect ports are R134a systems only, thread on ports indicates that it's an R12 system. There should be a label on the accumulator or evaporator box or on the underside of the hood indicating what refrigerant to use and how much of it you need. If it's an R12 system, forget about charging it yourself. Additionally, if it's R12, I'd recommend a conversion to R134a.
