a/c only blows cold while stationary

A/C doesn't blow cold while moving... but when I slow down and stop the vehicle it starts blowing cold.
It started after I changed the battery.
What's up with that?

grekal it sounds like we suffer from the same issue. from what I've read it sound like a vacume leak. In your case it having started with a battery change I thimk your job may be easier in tracking it down.
There is a black fairly sizeable seemingly empty reservoir beside the battery tray this appearently stores some vacume pressure for operation when engine is off. Check the vac lines to and from that to the dash.
My problem started out of the blue but I'm fairly certain after much reading it's a vac leak or a broken actuator. I iintend to dig into it tonight I'll post anything that may be helpful.
My symptoms in post below.
Good luck

F150 online to the rescue again!
CDeheer97 would that reservoir be between the battery and the fender? If that's it, then I may have found out why my AC dash vents redirect flow when I accelerate. The last owner must have smacked it with the battery because it's got a 2" hole in it. Maybe that's what happened to grekal.

Yes that is the vacuum reservoir between the bat, and fender. Main vacuum line from manifold feeds this reservoir then goes to a check valve then to the AC control in the cab.
I have not fixed my problem due to time but I did dig up a Schematic for the vacuum routing. I would post it but I'm just not that computer savvy. And once again don't have the time to learn. I could e-mail it to anyone interested.
Good luck

CDeheer97, if you could e-mail that vacuum schematic to me, clemanst@bellsouth.net, I'd appreciate it very much.
Thanks,
Tom

I've been away from the computer for a while but the e-mails have been sent.
Still haven't gotten into mine. Damn new house sucking up all my truck time.
It's nice to have a lawn to mow while I'm kicking back the coldies though!

Can I get a copy of the schematic. My 94 is doing the same - see my post.

I would also like a copy of the schematic. Please send to simon.warren@sympatico.ca
I can hear what sounds like a vac leak somewhere behind the battery, and it is only there with the AC on.
Thanks!
