Thank you so much pestco1!

I pushed the clutch in and sure enough it fired up! All I have to do now is like you said take a washer out and it should work
fine! When the clutch started to work it took out my battery which must have been ready to go on the fritz anyways!
Hey you wouldn't know how to install an aftermarket tach would you - my truck does not have a factory one and I do not know where to find the tach signal wire?

Might want to post the tach question in the electrical area. Make sure you put down year, make and model. Lots of good minds there and sure some have done that very same mod. before.
