A/C Clutch Assembly Instructions 97 F150
Hello -
I have a '97 F150 that has a bad A/C clutch assembly, I want to buy a new one from the dealer and replace it myself. If anyone out there has done this and can tell me the removal and install procedure steps for the A/C clutch it would be appreciated. Take Care

clutch assy instructions. It would be a great help!
Thanks!!
1st you remove the bolt holding the shoe on.You will need a puller(maybe) to get the shoe off the front. Then there should be a snap ring holding the pulley on, there might be a dust shield before the snap ring. This one you will need a 2 prong jaw puller to remove. The coil is either held on by snap ring or a pressed fit. If pressed you should be able to remove it with a pry bar. I use a rubber mallet to install and be sure to clock coil back like it was. Mallet the pulley back on and install snap ring. You should get shims with the new parts and I think the clearence between the shoe and pulley is .016 to .022. You can check it with feeler gauges. put bolt back on and enjoy cold air again..........
