Heater Questions

I have a '01 F150 Super Cab with only 4800 miles. Up until Sept. I drove my old '82 F100 most everyday to work etc. but being caught in the middle of a 4 car pileup put that to a halt. This winter is really the first time driving regularly in colder weather. Questions are: What is normal time for thermostat to open and feel heat. Mine takes around 5 miles or about 8-10 minutes. (lots of stoplights). This seems a bit slow but may be normal. Once it opens up the heat is fine. Also just curious, when I have it selected on floor, is there supposed to be heat coming from the small vents on the front of plastic shroud on tranny hump or just from ports on side. Nothing comes from left front vent on shroud and a little trickles from right vent. Both side ports are strong. Sorry to be so long, but any input will be appreciated. Want to get everything corrected before warranty expires in May if there are issues. Thanks in advance. Stay safe.

maybe let it warm up a bit before leaving in the morning. As for the floor vent......I have never been impressed with the floor heat, my feet are always cold on long trips.

Once you see the water temp rising off of cold you should start to feel the difference in the heat.

And yes, when selected to floor air should come out of the 2 vents on the tranny hump.
