my sony in dash has starting saying this. mostly it say FAILURE, but if i switch the display to the clock while playing music it seems fine, it will switch to the next song and let me know which sing it is then go back to the clock. if i have the display set to display the song then it will switch to FAILURE but will still play the song perfectly, i checked the speakers and they are all working perfect. my subs are working perfect also. i checked for loose wires and nothing. i cant figure it out.

 

for what its worth, after checking all my wires i finally pulled the unit form the dash, much easier than checking all the wires, and found a bare wire, that did it. guess i wint be getting that sony blu-tooth stereo i wanted.
