Help with buying a new head unit.
Looking for a new double DIN unit for the supercrew. I've used the search option till I was blue in the face. Having trouble deciding what I should get. And I would like you all's advice and input.
Here the list of demands I would like to have.
Touchscreen... With or without volume ****.
Bluetooth compatable.... For phone calls and for playing music via Bluetooth. Hands free operation is a "must".... But it would be nice.
iPhone compatable. 4s, 5s.
I don't care too much about DVD. But I guess it would be nice. But I'm not looking for it.
USB and standard mm iPod jack. On the back of the unit is fine. I'll route wires to glovebox
At least 3 sets of RCA pre outs. It would be fine if it's 2 pre outs and a sub out. If I drop down to only two pre outs then I'll have to change ideas for my amp for kids and highs.
And here's the real demand..... I'd like it to be under $300!
This is going in a 04-08 model F150 supercrew.
Thank you all for your help. Just can't decide on what's decent, and what everyone else likes. I don know what's reliable and dependable.
Thanks again.

I replaced a Kenwood navigation unit with a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS unit since I was fed up with the Kenwood and didn't need navigation anymore.
Based on your list, it would meet all of your requirements except for the USB/iPod jack inputs - for some reason Pioneer has limited the inputs depending on the deck model. It's hard to explain, but this particular deck's USB input can only be used for an iPod if I remember correctly. No thumb drive compatibility for whatever reason.
It is full bluetooth with handsfree capability; my one complaint would be that the on-screen menus and keypad are on the smallish side which makes it easy to hit the wrong number.
It has full DVD input, although I've never tried it.
The volume control is up/down buttons which I prefer to a ****.
I run mine with SiriusXM satellite radio - this deck processes so fast, when you first turn it on the deck shows "no signal" until the sat tuner catches up.
Best of all, it can be had for less than $300.
Good luck with your search!
