Wiring harness question.

New member here with a question. I will try to be as clear and thorough as possible. I have installed a pioneer FH-X70BT unit with bestkits BHA-1771 wiring Harness. So far so good. The radio works but now the dash lights don't work. I had two wires left unconnected. An orange w/black wire and a solid orange. I was told to leave the orange wire taped off and to ground the orange/ black to a metal part of the chassis. Still no dash lights. I've checked fuse #18 (5amp) and it is fine. I also replaced the light switch/dimmer **** when I first bought my truck. Should I have tied the solid orange wire I with the constant yellow wire? I don't have a fuse placard to tell which fuse goes to what. I found that online and my Haynes manual doesn't show much info on this issue. God only knows what happened to the original owner manual :/
