system will not torn on now, headunit problem?
i cant figure this out, everything worked %100 last 2+ years and all of a sudden stopped working, here is the run down....
double din radio to a 4ch jl amp, ch 1&2 to the front doors on high pass, ch 3/4 bridged to my 10" sub low pass, rear doors are running off head unit.
about 6 months ago the sound would randomly turn off and only the rear speakers would work (off head unit, about once a day) i would have to turn it 90% up to hear the music at a decent volume....well randomly the system would kick back on and blow my ears out.
now it is off completely, sometimes it will turn on when i 1st start the truck but turns off after a few minutes, the amp red led reads protect mode. if i run a wire from the power and jump it to the remote turn on it turns back on like normal, red light off, green light on. i have power both at the remote turn on wire and 12v main power supply.
*all wire connections are good. ground power, speaker etc.. could this be a loss of power from the head unit to the remote turn on wire? or the rca output causing a issue and by bypassing the remote/power im temporarily bypassing the issue?
any imput would greatly be appreciated, i hate having a full stero and only listening to 2 small rear speakers off the head unit which sound like garbage.

Sounds like the amp has problem. try disconnecting the sub and see what happens.
Also need to find out what the amp is protecting itself from. Most likely heat?? But
why is it overheating?? The protect light should be the hint. GOOD LUCK
