CD jammed and aux input
CD jammed and aux input
Hey, I just bought an 05 lariat and there's a CD jammed in the head unit or something, I can't physically see it my self, it's got the 6 cd changer and everytime I open my door or something the CD player starts goin wonky and makes ungodly noises. How do fix? I have no idea how to get that thing out of the dash.
Also, on a side note there's an aux button that doesn't appear to do anything, is there any possible way to wire it for a 3.5mm jack for my iphone?

ive had the 6cd apart before, it's modulor so not that bad, screw are small so be carefull not to loose any,
to get radio out, pull the front trim straight out then 4 screws hold radio.
i used a p.i.e audio adapter it plugs into the factory harness and provides a pair of RCA jacks, i got a RCA to 1/8 mini plug that mounts into dash and came with patch cable to plug in MP3. also has level adjust on it to match radio level so no diff. when switching sources(aux botton).

ok- gotta break this down some more for some people,
IF your truck has the overhead rail system then your aux is wired to a harness in the overhead for a dvd enterainment system that would mount on there. not worth buying - go after market
IF it was optioned for the sat. receiver then your aux input goes to that.
i don't think they started putting mini plugs on until 2008 plus models - but i could be wrong
i'm asuming that you already looked for and could not find a mini plug, so take this info for what it is - a helping hand
there are loads of threads about installing this module here, just hit the search and you will get all the info you need and then some........
