"Phone" setting on stock head unit

I have an '08 F-150 Screw Limited, with the OEM "audiophile" package.
There is a button on the right side of the stock head unit that looks like a telephone receiver, but I do not know its function. Whenever the button is pressed, the display says "no phone found".

I do not believe this truck has Bluetooth capability, but am stumped by this button.
Can anyone tell me its function?

I suppose it's covered in the owner's manual, but I am laid up just now, recovering from a wreck, and can't get to the truck.
Thanks in advance,
CW

On my '10 Supercrew, it's for the bluetooth phone connecivity. Have you tried to connect your phone via bluetooth?
