Help with dismantling 6cd changer!

Hey all, I've got an 07 Fx2 and my 6 cd changer has locked up. Load error message, thinks it is empty when it isnt....It happened after disconnecting the battery for some reason. Tried pulling the fuse, disconnecting the battery again, messing with the buttons. Looks like my only other option is to pull the stereo and try to eject the CDs manually. But I don't know what to look for after I get the radio out of the dash. Searching has turned up nothing, does anybody know how to manually eject the stuck
cds? Or maybe a thread with pics? Please help guys!

Bump. Mine jacked up, last night. I've been searching for this info, too, with no luck. Anyone, anyone. . . Bueller?

I just removed this same head unit from my wife's 2006 Escape, and it had 6 discs in it. I am replacing it with an Alpine unit that has bluetooth and Ipod capable.
Anyway, I kept getting eject errors and it wouldn't do anything. I finally had to cycle the key and open the door each time it errored out and then start playing each disc and then eject it. Took a long time. I have never been keen on these 6 disc changers because there are to many moving parts to get messed up. She had not used the cd part for a long time until Christmas. She loaded it up this Holiday and I am glad that I was able to get them out.

Now, as far as you go, since you cannot get it out. I would yank the radio out and unplug the power to it completely and plug it back in. Then try it one more time. If that doesn't do it, you are going to either give up and leave the cds in there, or dismantle the radio and surgically remove them. Won't be a pretty sight and chances are, you won't be able to use the cd part ever again.
All depends on how badly you want the cds that are in there.

Well, I've got tequila for anesthetic; guess it's time for rocket surgery. The only thing that really bugs me now is hearing the changer try to do something every time I open the door - it seems to cycle about 4 times before giving up.
Thanks.

Gtullous, do you still have the 6 disc cd changer? How much are you asking?
