2007STX HEADACHE! Please Help
So about a year ago my battery died and I needed a jump start. I have a feeling the guy on the other end of the cables connected them wrong because when I tried to start my engine, I saw him scrambling around. On the second try it worked fine. My radio was a casualty.
I checked all the fuses and as far as I can tell they're fine. I figured my radio was just fried. I bought a new JVC head unit and tried to install it tonight. I bought the complete kit from Crutchfield and connected each wire according to the instructions. The new radio will not power on.
Is there any relay or something besides the fuse that I could be missing? I think it's strange that a backwards battery connection would kill the radio and not affect ANYTHING else.
The only other thing I noticed was that there were two wire bundles going to the stock radio. The JVC radio only has one bundle of wires, so there's a separate harness in the dash that now has no place to connect.
If anybody has any ideas, please help. At this point, I've done and checked everything I can. Thanks!

I just might have found the problem. I went through the owner's manual again and in the fuse box diagram, I found a 5 amp fuse labeled "Radio Turn On". I pulled the fuse and it's not obviously "blown" but I'd say it looks questionable at best. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to test my theory since I don't have any spare fuses and the parts stores are closed. Wish me luck!
there are always 2 fuses for the radio power. one for the radio to turn on and off with the key and another to keep constant 12v to the radio for memory. usually the second wire is tied in with the dome light
