Question on Headunit Install...

Just have a question for you guys...since my truck wasn't selling, I decided to put in the double din I've had sitting around. The truck is an 04 with the Audiophile stereo, and the radio is a Kenwood DDX616. After wiring it all up and getting it in, it works great, but when the radio turns on i'm getting a popping sound. Only once when it first turns on, after that everything works and sounds perfect.

I wired the harness with the small plug with both amp turn ons to the amp turn on wire on the kenwood harness, and plugged the RCA's into the Subwoofer input. Not sure if I did something wrong there, its just what seemed to make sense to me...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is with the control wire that turns the sub on. The Ford unit used a 5v signal bit afterrmarket units use a 12v signal. That's what's causing the popping noise.

There's a thread about solving this "sub popping" issue and the solution is to wire in a 5v regulator from Radio Shack.
