Kenwood Power Issue - need help

I have a Kenwood 50W MP345U with a couple of 6 -1/2" Kenwood speakers, also have a 12" JL Audio Sub with amp.

The system was working great for a month and hitting hard. Then the head unit starting losing power and cutting out. We thought a bad ground either on speakers or unit.
Now it has no power and will not come on.
Started trouble shooting and still no power
- verfied fuse is good on head unit
- verfied RADIO fuse is good in panel
- ran with out speakers, still no power
- ran a new ground wire direct to the back of the unit from the battery negative terminal
- ran a new hot wire from battery to RED and YELLOW wire on head unit
- tested the direct connections with a JVC head and it will not power up either

I would have thought that a direct Hot wire and Ground wire from battery would have at least given us power. I am getting 12 volts when I test these two direct wires.

Does anyone have any ideas.
