Good sound

I am of middle age, but love rock, slipknot, acdc, old rock and new, shinedown.
My wife has a 99 sable with a mach3 system?? And I love it. I really like slipknot on it as you can really here all the percussion, get some thump, without overpowering the highs.
I am just completing the change from a supercab to supercrew on my truck and would like to and the right head unit, amp speakers, tweeters and small sub?
I see that I have room for 6 speakers factory, 1 in each door and 1 on each side of the rear cab.
Not lots of expense, I am sound deadening the whole cab. Just a good crisp sound that you can feel a little hit of bass, without the rattle forever!!
Any Ideas would be appreciated, I thought about looking for a Sable and taking out the stereo, but want aux input for xm and usb input.
Thanks, Bryan

Please, any advice!! speakers, component or not, subs, probably just one small one would do, amp size, good head unit, I have a nice JVC, but it is getting dated, 7 years old.
Please help an old fart out that still likes to rock.

Your best bet is to stop into local store and listen, everyone has their own favorite brand of speakers, amps and head units.

I am doing over my screw now, using infinity speakers & sub along with kicker amps. I sure there are better for more money, these are what I like. YMMV.

Seriously listen to the speakers and talk with the dealers (not big box stores) and they will guide you down the road for the amount you are willing to spend.

For the record I am doing component speakers in front doors, regular two ways in the rear door and a single dual voice coil 10" sub, all powered by a 5 channel amp. Along with a new head unit.

I will not blow the windows out or even shake the vehicle, but it will sound good, and that is all I am after.

Thanks, my problem is I live in a small area, with no shops like that around. Just a bunch of kids that rattle and bang. I really did want to do a component system
Thanks Jimbo

Check out my sig for my setup. Sounds like you and I have about identical tastes and listening styles. I absolutely love the way mine sounds/performs, and it won't break the bank. You could easily duplicate my setup for under $1500 if you did the install yourself.

Cadman,

Do all of your research and question asking here:
http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/

That is a very large "diy" forum dedicated to people like yourself who want to do install good sounding car audio.

Start out in the "no question is too dumb" forum. Great information and great people.

I am in the process of installing some older brand new gear that I got for almost next to nothing (precision power 4x50 amp, infinity reference 6x8 components) but I wish I would have learned more at that forum first. You can put together you own component speakers by hand selecting midbasses and tweeter and crosovers and get much better quality, sound and cheaper price than buying normal mass marketed speakers you would find like at best buy or the like.

I have a jvc 810 double din non video headunit that I love. It had ipod control, usb front and rear for hard drives, memory sticks, ipods, aux input, bluetooth audio (a2dp) and full handsfree calling features built in for the phone. I also bought the additional hd radio module and am loving that as well. You can also change the colors to match your f150 dash colors as well.

I am a cad guy too. CATIA V5 and am starting to test CATIA V6. Work in automotive design. When I need to see how something goes together on my f150, I. Just pull it up on CAD.
