double din=dead battery

double din=dead battery

hey guys in need of some help so about 3 weeks ago i got a pioneer in dash tv installed and ever since i have had it my battery has died 3 times iv taken it to the audio place to make sure it was wired right they said its all good that it must be my battery well my question is what battery should i get i have the tv and i got a 1000 watt infinity amp and 2 10 inch infinty subs? second question is i dont drive the truck much only to work and back and i do maybe 6 miles one way am i not charging the battery enough with such a small drive i typically start my truck on my lunch cause i sit and listen to music.. thanks for your help

It is not your battery. Something is drawing from it. Look at the amp and see if it turns off when you turn the truck off.

went out and checked the amp and it seems to b off so im gonna get a new battery and hope that works any reccomendations iv been told that the yellow top optimas is good but does anyone know if you can jump start the optimas iv told they cant once there dead there dead

Don't just go throwing in a new battery. Find the problem THEN fix it.

Load test the battery.
Check for current draw across the neg. side.

Unhook the battery over night completely, then if the battery is still good, look for another problem.

My round trip is 4 miles. Never a problem with the 150.

I gotta agree with what Fox and Norm said. Something is drawing on the battery somewhere. Unhook your battery overnight and see what you get. If its still dead, then your battery is toast.

Don't just start throwing batteries into your truck. Figure out what's wrong first.

Get it in writing from the audio place that it is the battery. Get a new battery, and when that one dies, go back to the audio place and tell them to fix the problem. Hopefully you paid with a credit card and can put a stop on the payment.

Thats not realistic. You are not going to get a business to put it in writing. You can bitch all you want, they will say no.
