Help with avhp4200dvd please!
Alright, I know absolutely nothing about installing a head unit, but I have a JVC piece of crap head unit that was after market and I have uninstalled it, but now I have a Pioneer 4200DVD and wanted to know if anyone knew a ready to go harness that I could plug straight into the factory harness and then back into the Pioneer head unit without have to mess with clamping, taping wires, etc. Please help immediately! I am riding around with a gaping hole in my dash and a beautiful yet unuseable at the moment head unit in the back seat.
I don't know that there is any such animal. This is probably about as close as you are going to get. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207055...ss.html?tp=736
Thanks
Just picked up a similar scosche harness from best buy for about $22, can anyone help me with wiring? I just don't know how I am supposed to connect the harnesses and where all the wires (such as the parking brake and ground wire are supposed to go...please help, I am not car audio savvy whatsoever!

The wire harness you bought from best buy plugs into your factory harness. All the wires running off of it should be labled. I assume you have instructions for your HU? If the wires coming off the HU are not labled then look at the instructions. Basically all you need to do is match them up, FR+ to FR +, FL- to FL- and so on and so forth from the HU to the wire harness you bought.
That should take care of 90% of the wiring. You may have a few, depending on the units options and accessories, like the parking break wire that does not have a factory connection. The parking brake wire is just a ground so if you want to be able to watch the dvd on the move then just ground it anywhere to the chasis. The rest...........just read the instructions and try not to overthink it! It's really not that hard!
I agree with that, do it right and use a relay
