I want to keep my factory HU and wanted to install these http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Lightning-Au...4#ht_727wt_786

I have 1 10inch sub with a 1000watt amp. Will I be okay? Will these speakers blow the head unit?

And I should get 4 huh?

The speakers won't blow the head unit but your amp might fry those speakers if you try to hook it to them.

The stock speakers sounded muddy to me with little midrange. The Kenwoods are very crisp and clear and for that price range I don't think you can do much better.

Those will be fine, they handle power quite well. I have two LA's up front and two Infinity Reference in the rear. When the IR will begin to pop/crackle at high bass from my JVC, the LA's aren't even close to distortion or popping/clipping.
