I went ahead and talked to a guy from WoofersEtc.com and had him set me up with things for my truck that they recommended. Here is what they gave me, however, i wanted 2 amps....1 to run the door speakers and 1 to run the subs with the ability to turn off the subs by a switch. Unless this big amp can do that all in one?

Can't comment on the headunit but I don't see a lot of talk about Sony on other car audio forums.

Front speakers - CDT are well received. Good deal with that price and free speaker cable. From what I read it also appears they have upgraded tweeters which is a good thing. In an earlier post perryrl said he was a CDT fan.

Rear speakers - same thing as fronts. Those aren't for you just the people in the back seat anyway.

Amp - I like that amp. The only thing that would worry me is the 5th channel power. Not sure if 600w is enought for 2 subs. I know it would rock a single 10 though. And yes, with the remote gain **** that is included you can adjust the output of the 5th channel. It isn't exactly an off switch but you can turn the volume all the way down just for the sub(s).

Sub - I would still recommend spending the extra money and get the Image Dynamics over the Kickers. Nothing wrong with the Kickers but the ID10 are just in a different league.

In fact from talking to mSaLL150 and Stormsearch the difference between 1 ten and 2 tens in only 3db which isn't that much. You could go with a single ID10 and it would still sound really good. With a single sub go 4ohm dual voice coil...for two subs go 2ohm dual voice coils. This way you can run the amp at 2ohms either way.

Update: Instead of two tens how about a single 12. It should be as loud if not louder than 2 tens and will not take up near the space. I would recommend the SI BM MKIII, if you can find one (maybe two ) or the Alpine Type R shallow. These MKIII and Alpine are a little pricey but I know for a fact the MKIII are great. These would work great with that 5 channel amp.

I think he already bought the dual 10 box so SOL there plus the mounting depth on the 12 can pose a problem unless you do other things, but Lewis, Langlowe is right on the amp, but with the speakers Woofersetc recommended, that amp is more than sufficient. I would have to agree and go with a dual amp setup and the ID subs or if you must use Kicker, at least go solo-baric and go with the classic 10's. As far as the head unit, don't know, but I will tell you this...go to Sony's website and see what the cost is for updates and what the process is as Pioneer is only a disc purchase, where Eclipse makes you send in the unit and charges almost as much as a new unit would for Nav. In the end it's up to you and as long as you're happy in the end, great Just remember to post pics and vids. Good luck.

Oops. Didn't look at the sub you recommended as that will definitley fit, but don't have too much knowledge on the "shallow" subs. I'd go with a traditional one.

The BM far from a typical "shallow" sub. It's truly in a class of its own.
