stuck and need help

stuck and need help

I just installed a kenwood dnx5140 in my 97, and the picture works great everything seems to work except the sound, all seems to be wired up right but cant get no sound...

Did you wire it up like this?

Yellow to constant 12v
Red to Ignition/Switched 12v
Black to Ground
White/Tan/Green/Purple to appropriate speaker wires

If so and you have no sound from ANY of the speakers, you very likely have a factory amplifier in your truck. Look for the remote turn on wire (which is a blue wire in 97 F150's) and hook it up to your remote turn on wire on your stereo's harness. Should work no problem

thx a lot, I am gonna try that as soon as I wake up, I have all the wires hooked up, but the guy at the local sound store said u wouldnt have to use the blue ones, so ill hook that one up, so is it the one that says a cont I thank...

thx bl4ck3dout I hooked that wire up, plugged it in and as soon as I turned the switch on the radio started blaring, it works great, really brought my factory speakers to life...
