Cool Stock headunit Swap Question

Hey Guys,

Ive been browsing around on the forums and I havent seen anyone else ask this specific question.

I have a 2006 Ford F150 FX4 Single Disc CD Player and Im interested in purchasing is a 6 Disc MP3/CD Audiophile Stock Head Unit from a 2005 F150.. (Has 3 clips on it)

Would these two be interchangable? As far as I know I dont have the subwoofer in the truck (Doesn't sound like it anyways) lol :-P.

I just didn't feel like pulling my truck apart; if someone knew...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks Guys

The headunits will work, but i seriously doubt you'll be happy with the sound quality without the subwoofer in the back.

How much are you planning on spending on this audiophile HU?

75$ hopefully. Think it might just be worth buying a new HU? Wouldn't the sound quality be the same as what I have right now?

If what ive seen on here from people that have done this setup before, the crossover for the doorspeakers is different in the audiophile then it is on the regular.

From online retailers, im sure you could find a aftermarket HU with install parts for $100 or so. If you were to say do it through us, our cheapest HU is around $80, and around $40 for the parts to install it.
