Need help with my next Head Unit
Need help with my next Head Unit
Ok guys I have 450.00 to buy my next head unit. I got a Alpine idax100 now in my truck which is a very nice unit very powerful and a Alpine PDX 1.600 amp.
I am looking to by a 2din and don't know which one since my budget is limited.
Ok this is my 3 choices:
#1 Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD (new is 440.00) 2010 model

or
#2 Alpine IVA-X205 (used is around 450.00)

or
#3 Alpine iXA-W404 2-DIN 4.3" iPod Control Car Receiver (344.00 new)

Please I will appreciate any help. I don't want to lose any sound quality, if you have one of those 3 units please let me know how they are?
thanks

I had both the ixa 100 & 001 great units. I now have the ixa-w407...nice stuff although you cant search ipod music as easily as the 001. I would rule out the w404 since it really isnt full screen double din. The new pioneer stuff is real nice the BT units are in your range and have NAV. look at the w407 if your a cd-less audiophile.
Thank's RemyRed, I am a cd-less audiophile, and I have all my music inside an Iphone and Ipod which hasn’t left my glove box for the last few months, you a right the Alpine x100 it is an easily friendly Ipod controller and I love it. I really want an ixa 407 but it is out of my budget, I think the ixa 404 will be a winner, I will decide in the next few days.

I have been a Pioneer guy since I bought a tape deck in 1977. A teaching buddy of mine has the Pioneer Double-din that you showed as a possible purchase. He likes it, and I thought the sound was great, as well as the ease of use. Alpine does make great HU's too.
