need advice on system

i just purchased a avh p4100dvd as a start for my system in my truck, my buddy has one and its not had any problems and been a good unit. only draw back was there is not a volume ****, but it looks clean. anyways i have a 2004(newer body style) f150 crew cab with the premium sound package i want to put something in i can turn up loud and sound good but for a reasonable price. what amps and speakers should i run? also i was looking in to a stealth box...but i dont want a W3 i want something a lot better than that so any advice??? i think at this point im just trying to get a sub and enclosure for it then go from there so what will work best?

thanks
max

When you say amps and speakers, do you mean door speakers or subs?

well i spent about 400 on the head unit so another few hundred on speakers im assuming same with the amps and the sub and enclosure i know will be anther few hundred. so 1500-2000??

i am wondering what would fit in a stealth box besides a w3 if i go that route that would sound good, basically what people have done and gotten good results from...

I think theres only one or two guys on here that have the stealthbox. To me, its just not worth it to spend money on JL equipment, especially a stealthbox, only to go ahead and turn around and drop another different sub into it. As far as boxes go, companies like Atrend and Supercrewsound.com make many different enclosures for under the back seats and in many different combinations. Im assuming you"ll be doing the install yourself? Or do we need to factor in installation costs for what your lookin to do?

Alright...here we go.

For the box, its pretty hard to go wrong with one of the supercrewsound.com options with the Image Dynamics subs. If you do the two 10's with dual 4 ohm voice coils, youd be looking for an amp that will do 800-1000 watts at 1 ohm or at 4 ohms.

If you do the dual 2 ohm, youd be looking for 800-1000 watts at 2 ohms.

I personally am a fan of Alpine amps. A good sub amp that would do what you're looking for is the MRP-M1000. It does 1000rms at 2 ohms. Its always better, in my opinion, to have a lil head room over the top.

As far as door speakers go, everyone has their own opinions. I personally run Infinity Kappa's in my truck. Other popular brands on here are polks, alpines, and pioneers. Check out the Pioneer TS-D1720C's for the fronts. They are a 6 1/2 and your stock's are 6x8's, but its easy to adapt them. The TS-D6802R would be the matching rears...no real need for 6 1/2's there.

As for speaker amp, the Alpine MRP-F300 would be a good choice. It puts out 50rms x4 at 4 ohms.

Wiring is up to you. I use Rockford Fosgate stuff...but i also pay next to nothing for it. Knu Konceptz is another popular online choice.

So, here it comes, all that product i listed is available at best buy (sorry for the plug, haha). I will say that im sure you can find it online for cheaper, just depends on if you want a factory warranty/extended warranty or not. I personally would hate to have to pay for shipping on something like this back and forth, especially with somes of the terms and conditions that some of these websites have (such as sonic electronics).

So theres a good start...im sure others will chime on with their opinions. Let me know what you think man.

well i am installing the double in right now with hd radio bluetooth ipod hookup and a back up camera. everything worked out to be wired with the stock system for now, there is a little adapter for the subwoofer, and another module to make the steering wheel controls work although its kind of a pain to program it.
