Factory Navigation Swap

I have an 08' Lariat with the single CD / MP3 Player. I found a factory navigation unit on Ebay I want to buy that came out of an 08' F250, the part number on it is 8E5T-18K931-CA. I called my local Ford dealer, they won't tell me if it'll work or not, I get the impression they were ticked b/c I wanted to buy a used navigation system instead of buying one from them for $ 1,900.00. I've seen alot of threads about swapping out OEM CD players for OEM Navigation units, but nothing about if one out of an F250 will work in an F150. Can anyone offer any suggestions????

It will likely need to be programmed for your truck because of the different options on the F250 VS your F150. If you do get it you'llneed the nav CD current version is 8P.

Hope this helps

It should work but it may need to be programmed. I bought one out of an expedition and everything works great without reprogramming. My factory nav unit will be on ebay soon, time to go aftermarket.

Yours wouldn't happen to be an 08' with the chrome trimmed ***** would it? If so, how much do you want for it.

Go to crutchfield.com and click on car audio. Then they will promt you to enter your trucks data. Make, Model, etc etc. If you have the single DIN opening, they make several radio/CD/Navigation components for under $700. You have the space for a double DIN opening but will need a mounting kit which crutchfield will supply. There are models from $400-$1000 with navigation. I'm sure you'll find something you like. JUst do me a favor and let me know if this helped you. I know alot about car audio and i'm trying to help people on here out, but I don't want to state the obvious either. LOL Thanks man and good luck

Bryan
