Head unit wiring

I bought an audiophile radio (phase II) to go in my '03 F-350 that has the World plug wiring. I need to build an adapter so it will plug in. I bought a female world plug and a male phase II plug, but I don't know which wires to connect. It seems that the dimmer works a little different on the phase II radio, and it has some connections that I don't recognize. Any advice would be appreciated.
Here's the 2 pinouts:

World plug - http://documents.victorytechnologies...oduct/1023.pdf

Phase 2 - http://documents.victorytechnologies...oduct/2320.pdf

Alternate - http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...o-wiring-2.jpg

What is "12V in start" used for? What is "PAEN"? How do I hook up the backlight/dimmer?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

What are the model numbers of the two plugs you bought?

Ok, so you've got the three plugs from the 5520 that your trying to wire to the one plug of the 1771? The other two smaller plugs are for the amp and for the CD changer, so you shouldnt have to worry about those two. Wire the two main plugs up to eachother and you should be good to go.

Yeah, I know that, I wasn't talking about the two other plugs. I was talking about the main plug. They have different wires. Especially the backlight/dimmer. Take a look at the pinouts. I don't know which ones to hook together.

Hook orange white to orange white, cap orange on the 1771 side and orange black on the 5520 side. Test that out and post back with what it does.

I understand what you are getting at. THANKS ALOT! I didn't think of that. I was thinking of grounding the orange/black on the 5520. Glad I asked an expert first.

I don't have the radio in my posession yet. It is being shipped as we speak. It should arrive in a day or so. I hope.

I just got the radio today, but my plugs aren't here yet! Radio looks like its brand new! Not a blemish anywhere. We'll see how long that lasts!

I tried your suggestion and it didn't work, so I swapped the wires. It worked like a charm. Orange on 1771 side goes with orange/white on the 5520 side. All the wires just hooked up tit-for-tat. I capped the other wires that didn't have a mate as you suggested. The radio dims properly and it sounds great! Thanks for your help!

Anytime man. I knew it was a combination for one of those wires. Glad it worked for you.
