double din??

double din??

Been reading up here awhile and notice a lot of talk about din and double din HU's. What is it and whats the difference? I know its a stupid question to some but not for me.

A din is the standard size for radios...measures something like 2 1/8th tall by 7 1/8th wide (I think...google could prob confirm). A double din is twice as tall but the same width. Your trucks stock radio is a double din, where as one from like a 1995 F150 in a single din.

Wow... thats the last thing I thought it would stand for. Lol. I thought it was something like the plug connectors in the back or something.

57 Rag, I learned about the din & double din reading post on this web site. I bought my double din Phase Jensen of ebay for about $220 shipped. Rember that you may need also a double din install dash kit.
